Rebel Wilson tries a new tactic to sell Sydney investment property

Hollywood star and newly minted author Rebel Wilson is taking a new approach to selling her Aussie investment apartment.
The listing in Sydney is the latest severing of her real estate ties with Australia. In 2022, Wilson, 44, sold a $9.5 million residence in Birchgrove, on the Balmain peninsula, while retaining this property in her portfolio.

The swish two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment in Balmain is atop a converted soap factory and has sparkling cityscape views. It was pulled from its scheduled June 22 auction and is now listed for $2.3 million.
It is understood Wilson, a producer and star of the Pitch Perfect movies, Bridesmaids and The Hustle, bought the dual-level property off the plan in the Lever Brothers Factory – which shut in 1988 – after its three-year transformation into high-end residences.
Crowning the top two floors, the rooftop terrace captures a vista of the Anzac Bridge and the Sydney CBD.
Developer Punch Park is behind the project, named 100 Balmain.
“Featuring level lift access to double garaging with Tesla charger, the two-bedroom residence is a heartbeat away from Darling Street’s village hub and a 500-metre stroll down to White Bay Brewing and harbour parkland with just one set of traffic lights to the city,” the listing, on the books of Matthew Hayson and Anna Wilson of CobdenHayson Balmain, explains.
Wilson finished 2023 by wrapping on her directorial debut, musical comedy flick The Deb.
Her Victorian-era villa on Louisa Road in Birchgrove spanned three levels, featuring marble and travertine, with a mosaic-tiled infinity pool on the waterfront terrace, Harbour Bridge views and a private boat mooring by architect Paul O’Connor.
It fetched a sum above expectation.
On the Parramatta River, the home was treated to a light and bright renovation to exploit the north-facing position.
